Deep Survival
Catch your attention?   Actually, that is the name of a book, given to me by a colleague..(a female verteran of the Russell pit).   Deep Survival by Laurence Gonzales.....Get it - what a great book.  Talks about the mental part of surviving - controlling the mind and emotions.

Make small goals, don't look at the bigger part of the situation - it can be overwhelming - espcially now. That is Suzanne's summary of the book....I am still in the process of reading it.

The markets are just starting to get interesting now that the long bonds are confronting the reality of the Fed's commitment to maintaining "growth" as opposed to inflation fighting.  Enough has been written about the credit markets and recessions in every avenue of the press by now, so you aren't going to find that on this blog.  But so much media attention happened in the month of January, that Sentiment readings hit near record bearish levels.  That is NOT a reason to buy, but it does set up a very choppy environment as these weekly oscillators continue to correct their oversold readings.

Parting quote from "Deep Survival":
"When the personality is ripped away, there has to be a core remaining to carry the person through.  If a person can carry  all his support within him, then it matters very little what the external environment comprises".
